About 20 km south from the camping site was the beautiful village Biscarosse. The beach here was very large and situated at the open sea. In the afternoon we had a lot of big waves! A very nice spot for surfers as well. Once the waves got too high, Jem was more interested in playing with bucket and shovel. We were very happy to have brought the umbrella because the sun was burning a lot. The white sand reflected it even more. |

This was our spot for our tent. As you can see it is an ideal large secluded spot. Enough space for Jem to play and some privacy for us.
This is the last photo you will ever see of this tent because we did not keep everything dry during the nights it did rain. The tent has served us many years but next time we will buy ourselves a new one. In one of the movies further on in the page, you can see some of our rain adventures. |
Sleeping for the first time of your life in a sleepingbag, in a tent was one big adventure. We were wondering how this would go and if everything would be fine but Jem slept like a baby! Ofcourse his 2 little ducks and his bear as well! At home he has trouble sleeping but here, as soon as the tent was zipped up, he arrived in dreamland already. In the morning when he woke up earlier than us, he played quietly with his toys until one of us opened one eye by accident. |

Because the dune was split, there was a very good spot for parasailers. They just stood there waiting for the wind to take their sail and off they went down the dune or high above it if winds were good. If you look closely you can see one floating behind the trees. During the day you could see at least 20 of them sailing like huge flies through the sky. |
